A train to Dali is one option, with transfers to the departure station and from Dali station to your accommodation planned separately. A direct private road transfer can also be considered. Tell us whether you start at Kunming airport, a hotel or a station, and compare the whole journey before choosing. If you are arriving by air, allow time for airport formalities as well as the station transfer.

Kunming and Lijiang are connected by rail. Check available services and the exact departure station for your date, then plan the transfer from Lijiang station to your hotel. A private road transfer is another possibility to discuss, but it involves a substantial driving day. Your arrival time, luggage and preferred pace will help determine which arrangement makes sense.

Plan the road journey to Shaxi Ancient Town in Jianchuan County. A private transfer can start at your agreed pickup point in Dali and end at an accessible meeting point near your Shaxi accommodation. Say whether you want a direct transfer, a visit before returning to Dali, or an overnight stay in Shaxi; these require different schedules.

A road transfer can connect your agreed pickup point in Lijiang with Shaxi Ancient Town. Specify whether you start at a hotel, the airport or the railway station, and whether you want sightseeing stops. If you are returning to Lijiang or continuing to Dali afterwards, include that in the request so the whole route can be planned.

Plan a road transfer and a visit to Shibaoshan scenic area in Jianchuan County. Shibaoshan and Shaxi Ancient Town are separate destinations. Allow time for the temples or grottoes you want to see, any required transport inside the scenic area and walking; some routes include steps. Confirm whether the day ends back in Dali, in Shaxi or at another agreed destination.

Plan a road journey from Lijiang followed by time inside Shibaoshan scenic area. Tell us which sights interest you and how much walking you prefer. The final destination matters too: returning to Lijiang, staying in Shaxi or continuing to Dali will change the day’s schedule. Treat the visit as part of the itinerary rather than a quick roadside stop.

Yes, they can be planned together, but leave time for both the old town and the scenic area. Whether they fit comfortably into a transfer day depends on your starting point, final destination and how much you want to explore. An overnight stay in Shaxi is an option if you prefer more time. A brief stop and a full visit should not be treated as the same service.

Avoid a tight flight-to-train connection, especially after an international arrival. Allow for leaving the aircraft, immigration where applicable, baggage collection, the journey to the correct station, security and boarding. Kunming Station (昆明站) and Kunming South (昆明南站) are different stations; check your ticket rather than assuming all high-speed trains use the same one. A later train or an overnight stay may be more practical.

12306 normally sells tickets within a 15-day window, including today; release times can vary by station. A third-party request made before tickets go on sale is not an issued ticket or a guaranteed seat. Check the issued train, date, station and class. International visitors can use a valid passport subject to 12306’s identity-verification requirements, and should travel with the same document used for booking.

Train tickets, airport or station pickups, hotel transfers, sightseeing stops, attraction entry and an accompanying guide should each be specified. Driver-only transport does not automatically include English-language guiding. For accommodation in an old town, we also check the accessible drop-off point because a vehicle may not be able to reach the door.

Send your dates, number of travelers, luggage, exact pickup and final destination, and any stops you would like. Say whether the trip is one-way or return and whether you need only a driver or also a guide. For a flight arrival, include the scheduled landing time and whether it arrives from within or outside mainland China. Mention anything already booked.
